You can permanently delete your Girmanators family account, or an individual child profile, at any time from inside the app or the web dashboard at girmanators.com. Deletion is available to the parent (administrator) of the family account.
How to delete your account or a child profile
- Sign in to Girmanators as the parent (administrator) — in the Android app or at girmanators.com.
- Open Admin → User Manager.
- Choose Delete on the profile you want to remove — or on your own profile to delete the entire family.
- Confirm. To delete the entire family, read what will be deleted, enter your password if you sign in with one, and type delete. Deletion takes effect immediately.
What gets deleted
- The account's profile information (names, login handle, notification email) and settings.
- Location history, device records, and parental-control configuration for enrolled devices.
- Uploaded content owned by the account (photos, avatars) and activity records (chores, rewards, balances, events).
Deleting the entire family deletes every member's account, every parent's included, and everything the family holds. The family's subscription is cancelled at the same time, without a refund for the time left on it. Phones with parental controls are released from them, and a family tablet stops working until the Girmanators app is reinstalled on it.
Deleted records are purged from our production systems immediately as part of the deletion transaction, and uploaded photos within 4 days. Residual copies in encrypted backups are removed within 30 days after that. Some records may be retained where required by law (for example, records of subscription payments processed by Stripe).
When a family is deleted, or a parent removes another parent, we keep a short record that it happened: when, the family's internal id, the internal account ids of the parent who did it (and of the parent removed), how many accounts were deleted, the billing provider's customer and subscription references and whether the subscription was cancelled, and a keyed one-way hash of those parents' email addresses instead of the addresses. It holds no names and no readable email, and is deleted after 7 years. See the Privacy Policy.
Deleting the app is not the same as deleting your account. Uninstalling the Girmanators app from a device stops collection from that device but does not remove your data. Use the steps above to delete your data.
Can't sign in, or need help?
If you can't access your account (forgotten credentials, device no longer available), email us at support@girmanators.com from the parent email address on the account and ask us to delete the account. We will verify the request and confirm when deletion is complete.
