They decide if it's worth it.
Kids open the shop with their balances at the top. They choose how many, tap Redeem, and it's paid at once from their own account. Nobody has to say yes, so the choice is theirs, and so is having less for the next thing.
They can't spend what they don't have. Anything out of reach shows how close they are, and the balance is checked again as it's taken, so a second tap can't overspend. On the kitchen tablet, it asks for their PIN first.
Trade one currency for another, at your rate.
An item can be an exchange: it takes from one account and pays into another. GPoints into spending money, spending money into screen time, at the rate you set. Change it whenever you like.
Both sides land at once, or neither does: if the account it pays into has a cap the trade would go over, nothing is taken. Raise the price of an hour of screen time and they'll notice. That's inflation, learned by the people paying it.
